PRESENTATION OUTLINE

HUNGER: OTHER FACTORS

CP AND SHELBY

Besides biological motives, other factors may be at work when you feel hungry or eat. They are called psychosocial hunger factors...

These can affect when, where, and what we eat. Food, smell, and appearance can affect eating behavior as well...

When eating with others, bored, or stressed, we tend to eat more. Binge eating and other disorders are linked to psychosocial factors.

How does this apply to us? Have you ever eaten while you were sitting in front of the tv even though you weren't really hungry?

That is an example of a psychosocial hunger factor in our lives.
