EARLY HUMAN SOCIETIES

HUNTERS AND GATHERERS

LIFE AS A HUNTERS AND GATHERERS

  • Early humans hunted for food
  • They also gather plant to eat
  • After they killed the animals, they take the skin
  • With the skin, they make clothing
  • When animals and plants get scarce, they have to move

AGRICULTRAL REVOLUTION

  • Humans learned to domesticate animals and learned how to farm
  • Now, humans don't have to move along with the animals
  • Early humans used a technique called slash-and-burn
  • They cut and burned down trees to clear land for crops
  • The ashes provided nutrients for the plants to grow well

FIRST COMMUNITIES

  • People began to develop special skills
  • People began to make villages and goverments were established
  • A goverment is a person who has leadership and power above others
  • Improved agriculture began surpluses in food and had more than what they need
  • They began trading with other villages for things they didn't have much of
