What is child labour? Write a definition.
Child labour is when a parents tell or force children to work.
What definitions, and give examples of countries, for the following-
A. Developed country
Developed country is like France where they are successful with producing wine and more.
B. Developing country
India is a developing country because they are building more supply for the poor.
C. Least developed country
Angola is least developed country because they are not helping the people.
What forms of child labour are there currently? List as many as you can.
Cleaning , delivering , customers service, factories , farm and many more.
Research the history of child labour.
A. What kind of work were children used for in the past?
Children were cleaning shoes for the rich people and it is safe and easy.
B. Explain the dangers and hazard involved in such work.
The safety of the children and also their privacy if it was a girl or even boys.
C. Compare and contrast (find similarities and differences) the forms of child labour used in the past with the forms used now. Are they more or less difficult, dangerous, etc?
Picking rubbish was done in the modern law for child protection in the past and still exist but in present more dangerous because people put random things in the trash.
What is UNICEF? What role does it play in child labour?
UNICEF is the united nation children emergency fun, they provide money to childrens for cloths,food, and equipment.
What is the convention on the right of the children (CRC)? Research what CRC states about child's labour.
They are trying to give more care by offering education and food and also they try to give the simple jobs for the children.
In the novel, Trash ,by Andy mulligan,the children work on a dump site.
A. What is life like for a child who works on a dumpsite?
It is really hard for them because they don't have enough food and education is low and also jobs that they do is hard and dirty.
B. What problem are associated with working on a dumpsite?
They don't have enough clean water and also it's really hard to get food but education is the biggest thing because they don't get any.
Andy Mulligan was living in Manila when he wrote, Trash. There is a dumpsite in Manila known as Tondo, or "Smokey mountain". Find and record some facts about the dumpsite.
A lot of people are struggling at Smokey mountain because rubbish is everywhere. It's blocking the water supplies and also there's too many rubbish that u can't grow anything.
Why do you think children would need to work on a dumpsite, or in any other form of child labour? What reasons can you give?
Forced by parents because they are poor but some people work just to save money for them self.
Record the ways that organisation and government are trying to stop child labour.
