1.
HYDROELECTRIC
I am doing hydroelectric for this project. Here are some facts.
It prevents the burning of 22 billion gallons of oil or 120 million tons of coal each year.
Hydropower does not produce greenhouse gasses or other air pollution.
World-wide, about 20% of all electricity is generated by hydropower.
Hydropower provides about 10% of the electricity in the United States. (1)

2.
HOW DOES THIS TECHNOLOGY WORK?
Water is needed to run a hydroelectric power-generating unit.
The water is held behind a dam, forming an artificial lake, or reservoir.
The force of the water being released from the reservoir through the dam spins the blades of a giant turbine.
The turbine is connected to the generator that makes electricity as it spins.
After passing through the turbine, the water flows back into the river on the other side of the dam.
