HOW IT WORKS
A turbine turns a metal shaft in an electric generator
Turning the turbine produces energy
The turbine uses falling water to power the generator
A large dam with a high elevation and near the bottom is an intake
The dam stores water which is let in through the intake for the generator

WHERE IS IT ACCEPTABLE?
About 20% of the world's electricity is from water
America is the leading user of hydroelectricity
Canada, Brazil, and China use lots of hydroelectricity
Africa uses the least hydroelectricity of all of the contients
This is mainly because of money issuses

ENVIRONMENT FRIENDLY? PRO/CON
Hydroelectricity is green and renewable
It can cause damage to water and natural water flow or droughts
It is safer to use, instead of harmful fums
It is more expensive than other types of energy
It is easier to use and generator than some other types
