Hydrogen!

Published on Nov 18, 2015

This is a short presentation on Hydrogen I did for school. It was super fun to make, and I know more about Hydrogen now!

PRESENTATION OUTLINE

HYDROGEN

Hydrogen is a thin, clear gas.

HOW DO YOU KNOW HYDROGEN?

  • Most obviously, water!
  • It was used in the past to fill baloons.
  • You would die without it, it's in almost every living thing!
  • Cryogenics!
  • Welding and reducing ores!

COMPOSITION OF AIR

Because of it's minimum presence in air, necessary hydrogen must be obtained in other ways, such as water!

Hydrogen is also not very dense, considering the density of other gasses in the air.

This is why hydrogen was commonly used to inflate balloons; it's lighter than the denser air around it.

Hydrogen?
Fuel of the future?
Heck yeah!

Hydrogen fuel, when burned, will let a car run, and will turn into water, creating no emissions other than that.

The downside, however, is that Hydrogen does not appear commonly in nature. High amounts of power are required to obtain it.

Possibly the most interesting use for Hydrogen is human cryogenics. (Freezing of humans to be revived later.)

WHAT IS CRYOGENICS?

  • Cryogenics is the preservation of cells at low temperatures.
  • This is a controversial practice.
  • They will later be revived.
  • Many don't believe that revival is possible
  • By the time people are thawed, more will have been invented.

As you can see, Hydrogen is simply amazing. A necessity for life, a future fuel, and possibly our key to immortality!
