HYPERTENSION

DESCRIPTION

  • High blood pressure (hypertension) is when your blood pressure is 140/90 mmHg or above most of the time.

SYMPTOMS

Headache, blurred vision, chest pain, dizziness, weakness, trouble breathing, and nose bleeds.

TREATMENT

Weightloss, limit alcohol content, reduce sodium, stop smoking, engage in aerobic exercise for at least 30 minutes a day.

PROGNOSIS

Is a major risk factor for stroke, vascular disease and chronic kidney disease

STATISTICS

31.9% of non-institutionalized adults ages 20 and over
