I LOVE YOU LIKE NO OTTER

By: Faith White and Emileigh Megel

The sun was nearly set
There was no need to fret.
Snuggles in the seaweed, we laid ourselves to rest.

As I took your paw in mine,
Let our nighttime dreams combine
For our paws were a perfect fit.

whoosh. whoosh. As we drifted in the sea,
You drifted away from me
And when I woke you were nowherer in sightp

Cold, confused, and feeling contrite
My devastated squeaks echoed in the night
"My love, where are you? My love, where have you gone?"

Immeasurable, immediate, and incredible pain
You placed upon yourself an unthinkable strain
As you desperately searched and swam

SPLASH, SPLASH! In a panic, vigorously seeking
Wondering where on earth the ocean could be keeping
My love, where could you be?

A short way to my right, I saw you in some seaweed.
For I knew, it was you, due to your uncontrollable weeping.
You saw me, I saw you, we found eachother at last.

Happiness could not describe, all the feelings stuck in that time,
Glorious, glad, ecstatic, sublime!
Oh! My love, we are together again.
