I LOVE YOU WITH THE LOVE OF THE LORD

• The Love of the Lord

1Jo 4:8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

1Jo 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.

The love of the Lord is SACRIFICIAL.
Ro 5:6 For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die.
8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

The love of the Lord is PRIMARY and FORGIVENESS-CENTERED.
1Jo 4:10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

The love of the Lord is UNIVERSAL.
Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (NKJV)

Mt 22:35 Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying,
36 "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?
37 Jesus said to him," 'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'
40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.

De 11:1 Therefore thou shalt LOVE the LORD thy God, and keep his charge, and his statutes, and his judgments, and his commandments, alway.

De 11:13 And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to LOVE the LORD your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,

De 11:22 For if ye shall diligently keep all these commandments which I command you, to do them, to LOVE the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cleave unto him;

2 And though God has the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though God has all faith, so that God could remove mountains, but has not love, God is nothing.
3 And though God bestows all his goods to feed the poor, and though God gives his body to be burned, but has not love, it profits God nothing.

1Co 13:4 God suffers long and is kind; God does not envy; God does not parade himslf, is not puffed up;
5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;
6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;
7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 God never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.
