I- Indifferent. When the fire men in Fahrenheit 451 are sent to a house, they are indifferent about the things they are destroying. Most people have no clue what things are in books, they were raised that way. However the people that read books know what they behold.
J- joy. Montag used to find "joy" the same way as the rest of society did. If people fallow the ways of society they watch T.V. and drive cars really fast, but on the inside they constantly are not happy. People like Mrs. Montag try and kill themselves because they are so unhappy and have no real joy.
K- keep. Even when Montag was introduced to books it was hard to not keep his old ways and go back to society. Beatty almost brought him back by throwing quotes at him and twisting the full meaning of books. In order for the society to keep their ways they need to take away all books and all opinions.
L- lame. The people in the book have never learned how to have fun. They sit and watch their parlor walls at high volumes. The people living in that society are lame.
M- memorize. Since all books are banned and burned if found, Montag only has one option to read and keep books. To memorize them. However in school they teach kids to retain facts and not comprehend books so therefore he cannot memorize any books. He is a sieve in the sand.
N- neurosis. If a person is found to be different and enjoy thinking, they are either sick or just wrong in the head. Neurosis is a mild illness that involves stress. When Montag started reading books and realizing the faults in society he could be thought to have this disease.
O- oppose. After Montag met Clarisse he started to oppose the disisions of society. Clarisses family had previously opposed what every body else was conforming to so it was easy to change his mind. Everybody who reads or starts to read books knows the faults in society.
P- paradox. The main culture of Farenhiet 451 doesn't have any realistic aspects. The people are like zombies, not really living but not biologically dead. Most of the people have no soul, unless they are like Montag or Clairesse that have found an outlet.
Q- quaint. There are many characteristics that can describe Clairesse. One of them is quaint, not only because she is not like society but she is also old-fashioned. She thinks, wonders and asks questions.
