PRESENTATION OUTLINE

I
Isolated
Montag and Faber are all alone on their quest to bring books back into the light. Even more so, Montag has isolated himself and is felling extremely lost in this part. He needs help, help that even Faber cannot give him. He has to help himself in order for him to truly be dedicated to what he believes is right.

J
Justice
In the book, it seems that the governments powers are all rolled into one. They have complete control over everything in that country. It seems as if though there is no justice system in the book, which marks the government as ruthless tyrants. They have law enforcement like the firemen, but they don't make judgements based on human rights or common sense. Just enforce the laws that their overlords have made.

K
Killing
For years, anyone who opposed the government were either killed by the mechanical hound or disappeared. It seems as though the entire nation is being held by an unknown sense of fear. The people are completely oblivious to what is happening around them and Montag is finally noticing for the first time the horror of today's society.

L
Love
Throughout the book, Montag has not come to love his life or the world he's trapped in. Truthfully, he probably doesn't even know the feeling of love or what that kind of happiness is. In a place where all knowledge is ridiculed and outlawed, all poetry is banned and never learned nor read, how could there be any love or peace? Evidenced by all the people committing suicide.

M
Madness
For all his life, Montag has been driven by madness to burn the books. Anarchy has spread over the ages and now Montag is beginning to fight back against that chaos which has swallowed the minds of everyone. Things are finally turning around in life though for better or worse, it cannot be known yet.

N
Numb
Everyone's mind in the entire country has been extremely numbed and dumbed down. This was all due to any information that could've been useful being outlawed. Any thinking was dissaproved of and all books were made illegal. Faber has known this and he addresses Montag of what has happened and advises him on what to do.

O
Oblivion
Oblivion has been seen as a place of nothingness or just the word of nothing or devoid of anything and/or anyone. Everything that humans have strived to understand and all the knowledge that we have discovered over thousands of years to bring to the common people is being thrown down the drain. Faber is one of the only knowledgeable person left and is straining to get that back. But Montag is also beginning to pull the plug.

P
Paranoid
Everyone in the book it seems is becoming extremely paranoid. Montag, however, even more so. He has to be alert for fear that his efforts to legalize books would be noticed. All of Montag's associates seem to have become a suspect of having suspicions of what Montag is doing. But of course he must be cautious and I suppose you might have to be quite paranoid in such a tight lipped and negative society.

Q
Quietness
In the society it seems that no one is at all personable. No one talks to anyone anymore, they all just laze around and watch TV. They have no real work to do or anything else to do. They have no purpose but to be quiet and sit down...and contribute to absolutely nothing. Montag is the first to have a gallant goal in his life and that is fighting for a cause to be made a reality.
