PRESENTATION OUTLINE

HOW YOU SENSE PAIN

BY: VANESSA CHEN

The reason I chose the Nervous system is because I never learned about it before, and I have interest in it

How pain gets caused

When a part of your body is pricked or hurt, pain receptors (nociceptors) are activated by a cut in the skin.

Going up!/ Taking action

Secondly a signal, travels to the peripheral nerve and up yo the spinal cord.

Getting sent up to the brain!

In one of the positions of the spinal cord, being called, the dorsal horn. Electric signals are sent to a neurone and to another one across junctions (synapses) of chemical messengers (neurotransmitters). Signals are brought up to the spinal cord and up to the brain.

Getting the feeling...

Inside the brain, the signals pass on over to the thalamus. While going into the progress, it relays on the signals, to pass on to other parts of the brain. The signals are brought to the somatosensory cortex (in charge for physical sensation), the frontal cortex (helps for thinking), and lastly, the limbic system (form for mood/emotions).

How this relates to my life?

It relates because at least once a day, I get hurt.

THANKS FOR WATCHING!!!!
