  • Most known for commentaries on Aristotle's works
  • Also known to be one of the greatest philosophers of his time
  • Wrote throughout his life

WHAT HE WROTE ABOUT

  • He mainly wrote about philosophy
  • Also wrote about Arabic medicine, math, astronomy, and grammar
  • Wrote a bit about Islamic theology, Sharía (Islamic law), and Fiqh
  • Most important works were about Islamic philosophy and medicine
  • Most important philosophical work is The Incoherence of the Incoherence

COMMENTARIES

  • Most famous for commentaries on Aristotle's work
  • Famous scholastics such as Aquinas called him The Commentator
  • Wrote three types of commentaries: short, middle, and long
  • Since he followed Plato and Aristotle, he agreed with their views
  • Views included women's rights
