INSPECTON
I entered through the barge office
Examiners would give them health inspections
They checked my luggage and let me in to america
7.
INSPECTION
I brought two weeks of clothes and a quart of homemade olive oil
The olive oil will help me cook and the clothes will keep me warm
I will need to buy water and food and maybe more clothes
I have $19
8.
LIVING IN A NEW WORLD
I had trouble finding a job
I had a lot of trouble trying to get a place to live because no one wanted to rent to an Italian
I live by a lot of other Italians so that is making my life easy
I don't speak English so that is making my life harder
9.
IMMIGRANT POLICIES
The Chinese exclusion act made it so Chinese immigrants couldn't enter America for 10 years
The immigration act of 1917 made it so immigrants had to be able to read and write
These acts made it hard for immigrants to enter the country
Some Americans supported immigrants because it supplied America with more workers

AMERICAN DREAM
My life changed for the worse because i couldn't find a job and got kicked out of my apartment so i moved back to italy
If i was born in the United States i could have found a job because i would have spoke the language and wouldn't have been kicked out of my apartment
11.
REFLECTION
My biggest challenges was finding a job and apartment
My journey was not worth the effort because i eventually went back to italy
The American dream to me means that you find a job and a house
