  • 72% of all teens use text messaging 
  • 63% of all online teens watch online videos
  • 61% of youth play online including multiplayer games 
  • 73% of online teens have used a social networking site

Benefits
teens from lower income families are most likely to use online social networks than teens from wealther households. Social networking sites can allow teens to find supports online that they may lack in traditional relationships. did you know that
90% of teens use cell phones?

Risks
While media use is an integal part of the daily life of adolescents there are a number of ricks associted with social media use specifically negative effects on mental health texting, sexting.

recommendations

  • online safety and sharing personal information and photos 
  • limited sharing information/pictures via the internet
  • lower incidence of public online profiles 
  • lower incidence of talking or meeting people they only know from online

Ok so my opinion on social media is its awesome and it doesnt effect students or kids.
