PRESENTATION OUTLINE

IMPERIALISM:
A policy of extending a country's power and influence through diplomacy of military force.

Rejected:
In my opinion, Imperialism is the absolute ruin of china, it had no beneficial factor at all. The Chinese economy was not that great to start of with. The Imperialism introduced modern ways to the ancient society. The Brits forced them to accept opium as a trade for goods. This, in fact started the opium war, and because the British won China just had to accept it. Soon, opium addiction became an epidemic. Britain hoped that would subdue the country. Imperialism started wars, issues of drug abuse erupted, and lives were lost. No good came of this!

Supported:
I believe that Imperialism on China was a great thing. It has helped to make their economy sky rocket, and this made it a perfect candidate for colonization. China's wealth was intriguing to Britain, France, and many other nations. Many health facilities, schools, and scientific discoveries were starting to flourish. Since China's power was becoming extended, people from all over Europe started living there, and culture in china became more diverse. New languages and religions were introduced to the Chinese, and the farming ways were improved. It was a wonderful time of change, and it was all because of the Imperialism.
