Adam and Eve
...the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground...

...and the man became a living being.
So, God made man. What about cavemen? Were there really stupid knuckle-dragging trogledytes grunting around saying "Oooh, aaahh?" Nope. God made people very smart all the way at the beginning. Plenty of people lived in caves a long time ago. David lived in a cave for a long time, but he was extremely smart. He wrote longs of songs and he could play the harp. He lived in a cave, but that doesn't make him stupid. Let's watch a short movie about cavemen called Neanderthals.

The Lord God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food.

The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”
Now the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky.

He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name.
But still there was no helper just right for him.
So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs...
So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
Male means boys or gentlemen. Female means girls or ladies.

The Bible says that you are made in His image. Can you see God? No, because God is a Spirit. But we are made like God: so we act like Him.

God Rescues
GOD RESCUES
Hosea 11:1 says that God loved Israel and rescued them from Egypt. God loves to rescue people! Have any of you wanted to rescue somebody? Maybe you want to be a firefighter when you grow up so you can save people? Maybe you want to be a superhero and save people? You're acting like God - you are made in the image of God. God likes to save people.

God Cares
Psalm 103:13 says, "Just as a father has compassion on his children, So the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him." God has compassion. Have you ever seen a baby drop his toy and the baby is crying, and you say, "Poor baby!" and you give the baby the toy? That is compassion. You're acting like God - you are made in the image of God. God is compassionate.

God Becomes Sad
Ps. 78: 40 says, "Oh, how often they rebelled against him in the wilderness and grieved his heart in that dry wasteland." God gets sad. The people of Israel disobeyed God and it made Him very sad. Have you ever been sad about something? You're acting like God - God gets sad, too.

God Becomes Jealous
GOD BECOMES JEALOUS
Ex. 34:14 "Do not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God." God is jealous of your love: He does not you to love any other god besides Him. Have you ever been jealous? You're acting like God - God gets jealous, too. But we have to be careful of jealousy. If we are jealous of something that does not belong to us, that is coveting. Coveting is sin. Our love belongs to God, and God is right to be jealous if we do not love Him.

God Gets Happy
Zeph. 3:17 says about God, "He will rejoice over you with joyful songs." God gets happy! Have you ever been so happy that you start singing? You're acting like God - you are made in the image of God. God is gets so joyful that He wants to sing. What does He sing about? It says, "He will rejoice over YOU with joyful songs." "Kaleb is so awesome! Kaleb is so cool 'cause He acts just like Me! Kaleb is so awesome!" God gets so happy about you that He starts singing!

1 John 4:8 says, "He that does not love does not know God, because God is love." Do you love anybody? You're acting like God - God loves.
