- studies show that inclusion works when it is done properly with strong supports
- tests prove that scores are higher when proper support is there
- tests show that scores either are stagnant or lessen when using a pull-out education method
Laws Support Special Education
- LRE, which is part of IDEA, is proven as beneficial to all involved
- court cases have helped to develop tests to show whether or not the school/district is giving apropriate resources
School Reforms
- skills that were just in SPED are now needed in gen ed also
- focus is on individualized instruction
- schools reform is about identifying, understanding, and using practices that have sound basis in research
