  • India burns coal to generate about half of its electricity.
  • In 2011, it imported about 54 million tons to generate power

INDIA PRODUCES PETROLEUM

  • India had about 125 Million metric tonne of proven oil reserves as April 2010

MANGANESE IN INDIA

  • India is one of the chief producers of manganese ore in the world
  • Is usually used in the manufacture of ferro-manganese and steel
  • it is also used in small quantities in paint and glass
  • In dry cell batteries, manganese dioxide is used

  • Mica can withstand high temperature as it is a bad conductor of electricity
