BRITAIN'S INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION

  • Britain was the first to experience this Revolution
  • This Revolution was brought by inventors developing machines
  • These machines helped make factories which were power driven.

AMERICA'S INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION

  • Income was from trade
  • Embargo Act hurt the economy
  • Had to invest in other things than trade

NEW ENGLAND STEPS UP

  • This area relied on trade
  • They then invested on machinery
  • N.England then mechanized its textile industry

WATER MILL

  • New England industries used water mills
  • These mills used currents for power
  • Also used gears and rods for single machines

  • Northerners then gained interest in industry
  • While the Southerners and the West still relied on Agriculture
  • The two areas now have become economic opposites.

  • Cotton became popular
  • Along with the invention with the Cotton Gin
  • This was in high demand in Britain
  • This crop also brought people to pick

GROWTH IN THE U.S

  • The cotton gin brought huge demand
  • Slaves number jumped by 500,000
  • Production of cotton jumped by 175,000 bales a yr

AMERICAN SYSTEM

  • Henry Clay proposed this name for this unifying system
  • First point was to make transports
  • Then add a protective tariff
  • Finally retry the National Bank
  • This attempt was made to appease the North and South

NATIONAL ROAD

  • The government began funding highways
  • These roads would connect regions
  • This road connected IL to MA

U.S IMPROVEMENTS

  • New renovations started to begin
  • First was turnpikes (tolls)
  • Then canals for transport

AGREEMENT

  • Many people agreed on these changes
