The causes

• Smallpox is caused by a pox virus known as variloa
• Variloa is a fairly large virus that contains double stranded DNA

THE LOOKS (;

• (Infected)the smallpox looks like bumps covering the body.
• (After infection)the virus leaves scars along the body where infected.

TREATMENTS

• The only way known to prevent smallpox is a vaccine.

GOVERNMENT EFFORTS

• The world has effectively exterminated smallpox
• The last known case was in 1979
• The only place smallpox is located is in two scientist labs
