The Beginning of the factory

  • The revolution began when inventors from Great Britain used streams and coal
  • Once America had gotten into manufacturing they kind of perfected it when they used power driven machines on assembly lines.
  • This allowed for the mass production of goods and to lower the prices of the goods made.
  • this also allowed for the common person to afford most of these goods.

Northern Agriculture

  • The agriculture in the north was a feeble comparison to that of the south
  • The soil there was not as fertile and they did not have the same amount of workers that the south did.
  • So once industry came to the north they never looked back.

Southern Agriculture

  • The south was known for their agriculture and work force.
  • The soil and temperature in the south was much more favorable than in the north.
  • They also had a large slave force that made it much easier for them to get the work they needed done.

SOUTHERN MANUFACTURING

  • There was not much need for manufacturing products in the south because they had such good agriculture.
  • The south would use there agriculture to trade with the north for there manufactured goods

NORTHERN MANUFACTURING

  • The north jumped on the oppurtunity to manufacture because they did not have favorable farming conditions
  • The north exploded when manufacturing came to the north and it also allowed for more people to work
  • Since they did not have the best agriculture they would trade with the south so they would still have the food and things they needed

The Textile Industry

  • Factories changed the textile and cloth making process making it much quicker and easier make clothes
  • The Americans decided to industrialize all parts of the cloth making process making it even easier to make cloth in one place
  • Before this they would have to trade different parts of the cloth to people to make the cloth into things.

Economic sides

  • Once the industrial revolution hit the country split into two economic sides.
  • The first was the north which was now all about industrializing and mass producing goods.
  • The second was the south which did not fully industrialize because farming there was still so good.
  • Both sides would trade back and forth for the things they needed.

Cotton

  • The south had a cash crop that was revolutionized by a machine which made it much quicker on the plantations
  • The invention was called the cotton gin and it was a machine that would separate the seeds from the cotton very quickly.
  • Since the cotton gin sped up the process of getting cotton the plantations needed a larger work force so they slave amount increased.

the american system

  • Developing transportation systems and other internal improvements.
  • Establishing a protective tariff.
  • Resurrecting the national bank.
  • Henry Clay cleed it the American system.

Internal Improvments

  • Many internal improvements happened during the revolution because of the trade between the north and the south.
  • It happens when people have a change and need to make their lives easier.
  • One huge improvement was the steam engine locomotive, which allowed faster travel across country.
