People farther inland gained easier access to manufactured goods

Railroad tracks and the Locomotive
Miners laid down tracks for their horses to pull carts on
On the track, one horse could carry as much as 20 horses could on a road
Later the locomotive was built. Instead of horses now trains went on tracks
The locomotive allowed goods and people to be transported a lot faster
It also allowed goods to be transported across America

The telegraph
The telegraph allowed messages to be sent and received almost instantly
It was sort of like the first from of texting
It helped people communicate a lot faster

Eli Whitney recieved an order from the U.S. gov. to make 10,000 rifles
Before rifles had been hand made and they were all unique
Eli Whitney made the rifles identical so if it broke you could easily just
replace the part

Cotton gin
Another invention made by Eli Whitney
This machine seperated the seeds from the cotton
It could produce 50 times as much cotton as a manual laborer
