OUTCOME

  • The Industrial Revolution caused many things to change.
  • New inventions and machine were made to make life easier.
  • Products began to be made in factories.

The Beginning

  • This all started after the War of 1812.
  • The Embargo Act Jefferson started had a huge effect on the start as well.
  • People started to realize they can accomplish more than they already could.
  • People in Boston started to make different types of cloths.
  • Also new iron techniques led to the better use of coal.

Money Increase

  • A huge affect of the Revolution was the huge increase in money.
  • The use of factories allowed money to come in faster.
  • The use of factories brought in so much using cheap labor.
  • The use of factories also helped people get their goods faster.

Population Increase

  • The population of the North and South increase dramatically.
  • The reason of this was because of the jobs being offered in the South.
  • Also there was a great production of cotton that attracted people.

Problems in the North

  • The North realized the Revolution didnt have that great of an effect on them.
  • The idea of slavery was not used in the North as it was in the South.
  • Also farming wasn't as strong as it was in the South.
  • All this made the North was an economic change.

Textile Industries

  • The manufacturing of cloth was a big deal during this time.
  • There were some problems because the product was a such a high price.
  • Manufactures had to improvise and make the people happy.
  • What they did was use a cheaper product to produce the cloth.

The Popularity of Cotton

  • The production of cotton was the most profitable crop during this time.
  • A lot of people wanted to have great amounts of it.
  • Even though it was very easy to produce, it was very hard to separate.

Slavery

  • Slaves were used in the South and had a huge effect on crops.
  • During the Revolution, there was a massive increase in slave trade.
  • Due to the huge production of cotton, more slaves were needed.

Ideas from Madison

  • Madison wanted to make some changes during this time.
  • His ideas included restoring the national bank and giving out tarriffs.
  • Also a great idea he had was to build a way to make traveling easier.
  • This idea led into the construction of roads.

Transportation

  • The building of roads had a huge effect on the people.
  • This was of traveling was way faster than canals.
  • This project started in 1811 and ended in 1825.

The use of Tariffs

  • Tariffs were used to impose the goods purchased by the people.
  • The reason for tariffs were because of the British goods being sold.
  • These would also help pay for the costs of the road system.

The Responses

  • The South was not happy because they didnt want the government involved.
  • Also the west didnt depend on manufacturing and they weren't eager to tax.
  • And the North did not have a problem with the tariffs.

The Idea of a Second Bank

  • The people had though the idea of a second bank was a good one.
  • This bank would allow the use of money to be used nation wide.
  • And the use of a second bank would make businesses more easy.

Conclusion

  • The Revolution was a huge effect in US history.
  • It allowed many ideas to be built on over the years,
  • The ideas also led up to bigger and better ones that we have today.
