Infrared radiation is felt as heat and can often cause skin burn.
Infrared is not very dangerous unless people aren't paying attention or acting careless

WAVELENGTH
The wavelength of infrared waves can range anywhere from 1000 nm (nanometers) to one mm (millimeter)
This is close to the thickness of the tip of a pencil
Frequency can range from 430 THz to 300 GHz
