HOW INFARED WAVES ARE CREATED

• Infared waves re created from heat. The hotter an object is, the more heat an object produces, the more infrared it produces.

HOW THE WAVES ARE USED

• Nightvision goggles
• Thermal imaging (military usage at night)
• Heat food (mostly in fast food restaurants)
• Tv remote controls

DANGERS?

• Infrared radiation is felt as heat and can often cause skin burn.
• Infrared is not very dangerous unless people aren't paying attention or acting careless

WAVELENGTH

• The wavelength of infrared waves can range anywhere from 1000 nm (nanometers) to one mm (millimeter)
• This is close to the thickness of the tip of a pencil
• Frequency can range from 430 THz to 300 GHz
