Project Based Learning:
Learning that places emphasis on long-term activities, interdisciplinary cooperation and is student-focused

Projects involved in this model are complex and focused on complicated questions/problems which enables students to investigate further and use their problem-solving abilities in designing the outcome and honing their decision-making skills

The learning model focuses on cooperative learning and is dependent on the students' individual artifact construction to symbolize what was learned

BENEFITS:
(1) Evidence shows it enhances the quality of learning
(2) Leads to higher-level cognitive development through engagement of students with novel and complex problems

CHALLENGES:
(1) Students may have difficulty with making meaningful scientific (?'s)
(2) Complexity of the project and time constraints
(3) It might present challenges in classroom and time management for teachers

INQUIRY-BASED LEARNING
"We Learn Best when We are at the Center of our Own Learning"

The model is representative of a learning process through questions generated from interests, curiosities, perspectives/experiences of the learner.
When investigations grow from an innate curiosity, learning is an organic process that is intrinsically enjoyable

It is also referred to as the LEARNING CYCLE MODEL
That involves five (5) Distinct Processes

(1) ENGAGEMENT: Question used to engage the students
(2) EXPLORATION: Objects/concepts are explored
(3) EXPLANATION: Students explain their understanding of concepts and processes
(4) ELABORATION: Activities allow students to apply concepts in contexts and build on understanding their skills
(5) EVALUATION: Students assess their knowledge, skills and abilities

SOCRATIC METHOD

The model is one of the most powerful and oldest approaches to teaching and developing critical thinking skills

Through removing pretenses of certainty, the method aims to provoke a deeper understanding of any subject matter

Learners are encouraged to question everything. It is often used to stimulate positive growth in the quality of human discourse. Open-ended questions initiates the process of this method of learning
