PRESENTATION OUTLINE
HOW IS IT CREATED?
When an object is not quite hot enough to radiate visible light, it will emit most of its energy in the infrared.
WHAT DO WE USE IT FOR?
- Infrared technology is a type of wireless communication technology by which we transfer data between 2 enabled devices through infrared radiation.
- Thermal imaging cameras use infrared to look at human body heat emissions, both for medical purposes and in night-vision cameras. They're often used in the study of animals, as security cameras, or in wars.
The most common use of infrared in everyday life is remote controls. These work by sending pulses of infrared that spell out a message to an electronic device. This device could be a television, blu-ray player or even a computer.
DANGERS🔥😬
Infrared is much like a hot stove or surface, it can cause a burn because infrared works to get molecules moving.
WAVELENGTH
The wavelength of my EMR ranges from 1mm to 750 nm.
HOW DOES IT EFFECT THE ENVIRONMENT?
Water vapor and certain gases in the atmosphere absorb infrared radiation, causing what is called the Greenhouse Effect. This infrared radiation comes from materials on the Earth's surface that have been heated by sunlight. The absorption of infrared heats the atmosphere to the common temperatures we experience.
