INFRARED WAVES

BY DEVIN KING, JOE MUSAVAGE. AND MARCUS KEYS

Infrared is a form of electromagnetic radiation that has a wavelength slightly longer than the color red in the visible light spectrum.

Infrared light is used in industrial, scientific, and medical applications as well as in consumer devices. Night-vision devices using infrared illumination allow people or animals to be observed without the observer being detected, in thermographic cameras that produce images from heat radiation, in remote controls and eye tracking systems using LED, and more.

DANGERS OF INFRARED

THE MOST COMMON DANGER IS OVERHEATING.

Wave length size is 1 millimeter down to 750NM.
It's about the size of a pinhead at the biggest and cell at the smallest.

FRQUENCY RANGE

THE FREQUENCY RANGE IS APPROXIMATELY 430 THZ DOWN TO 300 GHZ.

INTERESTING FACTS

  • Infra means below; infrared waves have a lower frequency than red waves.
  • Warm objects like humans and space heaters radiate light in the infrared region of the spectrum.

USE OF INFRARED WAVES

WE USE INFRARED WAVES IN OUT TV REMOTES.
