Innovation with technology education

Brett Theobald- Swan Hill College

The subject started 1870 aboard an anchored convict ship called the Vernon. Its intention was to provide wayward children with skill or trade and make them a valued member if society. The boys were trained in trades of short supply such as wagon wheel making and cobbling. The girls were housed separately and trained in domestic chores.
