WHY ARE INSECTS SO SUCCESSFUL?

  • They have a protective outer shell called an exoskeleton.
  • Most have compound eyes to see very well.
  • They use camouflage to protect themselves from predators

  • They have fast reproduction strategies and processes
  • They have different mouth parts to get the food they need.
  • They use different strategies to get to their food like climbing, flying, ect.

WHAY ARE INSECTS SO SUCCESSFUL

  • They are so successful because there is so many of them.
  • They use there antenna to feel and move around.
  • They lay multiple eggs at a tome to keep their species alive

WHAT I LEARNED ABOUT COCKROACHES

  • They have chewing and biting mouth parts
  • Their opposite legs move at the same time
  • They have legs with little hair like things that cling on to things so they don't fall off.

  • Cockroaches are nocturnal animals and they mate at night
  • Cockroaches try to find food but they use their antenna to feel around and smell
  • Cockroaches defense system is their hissing

WHAT I LEEARNED ABOUT COCKROACHES

  • They use camouflage to defend themselves
  • Cockroaches use their antenna to not just feel but to smell too
  • Cockroaches hide in places that are dark because they are nocturnal animals
