  • Herbicides are pesticides used to kill unwanted plants.
  • They are usually used on weeds or dandelions.

HISTORY OF HERBICIDES

  • It was first made during world war 2 as a potential agent
  • It was used as a biological weapon.
  • It was discovered and synthesized by W.G. Templeman in 1940.

HERBICIDES EFFECT ON SOIL

  • Runoff from the plants can effect the chemistry and bioligy
  • Of land

INSECTICIDE

  • A chemical that is used against insects by killing them.
  • The main insects it kills are ants or termites that infest houses.

HISTORY OF INSECTICIDE

  • It was first used in 1928 and created by Dr. Franklin C Nelson.
  • It was mainly intended on killing flys and mosquitoes.
  • It contained 5% DDT in the late 1940 and early 1950's.
  • They stopped because it had negative impact on nature.
  • It caused bald eagles to go to the brink of extinction.

EFFECT ON SOIL

  • It caused the same effects as herbicide but was more poisonous.
  • It even hurt living animals.
