METAMORPHOSIS CYCLE IN ANTS

• They start out as an egg.
• Next, they become larvae.
• They then develop into pupae.
• Finally, the fully developed ant becomes
• a Queen, Male, or Worker ant.

WAYS ANTS PROTECT THEMSELVES

• Some sting or bite.
• Other ants will block their nest by putting their
• head in the entrance.
• They will also throw small intruders out of the nest by
• using their powerful mandibles.

ARE ANTS HELPFUL OR HARMFUL TO HUMANS?

• They are helpful, because when they dig in the ground the soil gets
• mixed up. They also eat other insects.
• They are harmful to humans because some bite us, they damage houses,
• and they infest our food.
