AEROPHONES

  • Aerophones are any instruments that make sound by arial vibrations
  • They do not use strings or membranes
  • EX: Bagpipes, accordian, fench horn, and any other wind instruments.
  • They work by someone blowing air into the instrument, causing vibrations.

IDIOPHONES

  • Idiophones are instruments that create sound by the instrument vibrating.
  • They work by hitting the instrument, which makes it vibrate to add sound.
  • EX: Plucked: amplified cactus; Blown: aeoslkavier; Friction: glass harmonica
  • The most of them are made out of glass, metal, ceramics, and wood.
  • Idiophones are considered part of the percussion section in an orchestra.

MEMBRANOPHONES

  • These are any instruments that produce sound by the vibrations of a streched membrane.
  • Membranophones include any type of drumss or kazoos.
  • It works by having something else hit the streched surface creating vibrations

CHORDOPHONES

  • Chordophones are any instrument that are stringed.
  • It works by vibrating a string that is streched between two points.
  • Examples include harps, violins, guitars, and pianos.
