  • It has some affect on your emotions.
  • It also assists with your sensory experiences.
  • It integrates information on the position of the body.
  • The insular cortex also is associated with pain, joy, disgust, and sadness

A CASE STUDY.

  • They worked on seeing if the stimulated insular cortex
  • Aided in epilepsy, they stimulated the insulate cortex
  • Of five patients and found that it may be able to help
  • Prevent epilepsy.

WHAT HAPPENS IF IT IS DYSUNCTIONAL

  • If it is dysfunctional your emotions might not be as stable.
  • Your senses might be thrown off.
  • You have a better chance of getting epileptic seizures
  • You may feel disorientated
