INSULATION R-VALUES

  • R-Value is a measure of insulation’s ability to resist heat traveling through it.
  • Colder regions require thicker insulation. Therefore the thicker the
  • Insulation the higher the r-value.

TYPES OF INSULATION

BATTS AND ROLLS

FIBERGLASS, MINERAL WOOL, AND PLASTIC FIBERS

FIBERGLASS INSULATION

  • Applicable on unfinished walls, including foundation walls.
  • Insulation methods, between studs, joists and beams
  • Inexpensive

MINERAL WOOL INSULATION

  • Can be installed like fiber glass insulation
  • Relatively in expensive, 30$ a roll
