HOW COMMON ARE INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES?

• Intellectual disability affects about 1% of the population.
• 85% have mild intellectual disability
• Approximately 6.5 million people in the u.s.a have an intellectual disorder
• Also more than 545,000 kids/ children have some type of level of intellectual disabilities

WHAT ARE SOME COMMON SIGNS OF INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY?

• Children with this disability may
• Sit up,crawl
• Hard time speaking
• Hard time remembering things
• Dont understand how to pay for things

WHAT ARE SOME COMMON SIGNS OF INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY?

• Trouble understanding social rules
• Trouble solving problems
• Hard time seeing the consequences of their own actions

WHAT ARE SOME COMMON SIGNS OF INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES?

• They are diagnosed by two main things:
• The ability of a persons brain to learn,think & solve problems
• Also whether the person has the skills needed to live in-deviously
