Intellectual Property

Intellectual property is something that someone has such as an idea or development. (Anastasi & Daniels, 2010)

Copyright

Copyright is anything that one originally develops. (Goodwill Community Foundation, 2014)

The purpose for copyright, is have the original developer get credit for what they have done. (Smith, ND)

To avoid copyright infringements, always use citations to cite the source of the information. This way you are acknowledging the creator. (Goodwill Community Foundation, 2014)

Public Domain

"Public domain means that anyone can use the information from another and also change the information to adapt it without restrictions or permission from the original person who developed it." (Goodwill, Community Foundation, 2014)

Creative Commons

Creative Commons is works that can be used if the creator is given credit for their development. One though cannot make a profit off of it, cannot change it, or share alike. (Goodwill Common Foundation, 2014)

Fair Use

"Fair Use means you can use copyrighted material without a license, if you use it for commentary, criticism, reporting, research or teaching." (Goodwill Common Foundation, 2014)
