PRESENTATION OUTLINE
What is interference?
Interference is the combination of 2 or more waves that result in a single wave
Constructive Interference
When crests and troughs overlap and they create a single wave with a higher crest and deeper trough
Destructive Interference
When crests and troughs overlap they form a wave that has a smaller amplitude than the original waves. When they have the same amplitude and meet each other the result is no wave
Standing Wave
A pattern of vibration that simulates a wave that is standing still
THE RESULT OF A CONSTRUCTIVE WAVE IS?
- A still wave
- Low crest
- High crest
- High trough
A STILL WAVE IS THE RESULT OF WHAT?
- When crests and troughs overlap
- When 2 deconstructive waves combine with the same amplitude
- When 2 constructive waves combine with the same amplitude
