Slide Notes

Good morning! Thank you so much for joining me this morning. I want to officially welcome to the Pretrial Services Agency (PSA) Intern Orientation. My name is Jehan Bostick, and I am the Internship Coordinator for PSA. We're very excited to have you on board for you to start your journey. We are living in different times nowadays, with the pandemic still active, so orientation will be no more than about an hour, unless you have questions to ask. So without further ado, let's get started.

Welcome to Intern Orientation!

Brought to you by the Training and Career Development Center
Good morning! Thank you so much for joining me this morning. I want to officially welcome to the Pretrial Services Agency (PSA) Intern Orientation. My name is Jehan Bostick, and I am the Internship Coordinator for PSA. We're very excited to have you on board for you to start your journey. We are living in different times nowadays, with the pandemic still active, so orientation will be no more than about an hour, unless you have questions to ask. So without further ado, let's get started.

Today's Agenda

So for today's agenda, we are going to do some introductions to get to know each other a little bit, followed by some forms that you will be responsible for or have already signed, then I'm going to discuss the mandatory courses that you are required to take as a PSA intern, and finally, evaluations that will be completed by your supervisor. From there, I'll open up the floor for questions before closing things out.

Introductions

Let's get to know each other a little bit. So, let's go around the virtual room and I would like for each of us to say our name, where you're from, what you're studying, and what you are looking to get out of this internship. Who would like to start?

Program Forms

Thank you so much for those great intros! Now, we're going to discuss program forms.

Timesheet

First, your timesheet. After the conclusion of the orientation, I'm going to send you an email with your timesheet attached. All you need to do is fill out the timesheet every day that you work, have your supervisor sign off on your timesheet each month, and at the end of each month, submit your timesheet to the Internship Coordinator each month.

Intern confidentiality notice

Next, is the Intern Confidentiality Form. You have already signed and returned this form, but your signature on that form tells PSA that you will not share any records, or information that you come across with anyone outside of PSA. If it's determined that any information was shared, disciplinary action will be taken.

required courses

As an intern working for PSA, there are required courses that you will need to take and complete within the first 10 days of your internship. Links to these courses are listed on your training schedule that was sent to you in your offer email. Please look for an email from Irene Monk for additional courses that you will need to complete.

Evaluations

Finally, evaluations. Your supervisor will receive a mid and final evaluation 6 and 12 weeks into your internship. You will not be copied in that correspondence. Once I receive those back from the supervisor, I'll send them to you for your records.

What questions do you have?

Now, I'm going to pause and ask you what questions do you have for me?
