INTERNALS OF AN IPAD

BY OWEN REYNOLDS

Starting with the basics!
This $18,000 computing device had two main components: a screen and a drawing surface. The user would hold an electronic stylus and draw on the surface. The results showed up on the screen.Despite Rand's creative approach, tablet devices didn't take the world by storm. Instead, the keyboard and later, the keyboard and mouse combo became the standard user interface for computers.

iPad design!
The iPad like the iPhone is primarily a touch device the front holds a 9.7 inch touch screen with a single button below the screen(the same home button found on the iPhone and iPod.)The front also holds a webcam for Apple's FaceTime video calling, while the back has a higher quality camera for taking better photos.

GPU!
A GPU (graphics processing unit) is the thing that is used primarily for 3D uses.It creates lighting effects and transforms objects every time a 3D scene is created or drawn, these are mathematically intensive tasks with would put strain on other parts like the CPU so using the GPU to lift the strain from it so it can perform other tasks at the same time.

RAM!

  • RAM stands for random access memory and it is said like the male sheep!
  • Every time you open a program, it gets moved from the hard drive into the RAM!
  • RAM is much faster than reading data from the hard drive!
  • The more RAM your computer has the faster it will run!
