* 1913 BCER bought 28 tramcars from St. Louis Car Company in Missouri. One of the tramcars bought is the tramcar 1220, which is in the Richmond Museum.
* Interurban lines and their staff were a valuable part of the community

* In 1958 the last tramcar departed from Marpole to Steveston.
* Tramcar 1220 is 102 yrs. old

 Goes along Railway Avenue, Granville Avenue, Garden City Road, and Great Canadian way.

 Runs along North Arm of Fraser River
 Started in 1909

 Started on October 4, 1910
 Used the New Westminster Bridge

 Most of the track’s right-of-way was taken by the Trans-Canada highways was built, but sections of it are used as walking and biking trails

 After the termination of interurban services on the Central Park Line, right-of-way remained under BC Hydro
 In 1975 the Greater Vancouver Regional District incorporated the right-of-way into a light rail line to link Vancouver to New Westminster
 Provincial government took over this project, turning it into the Vancouver Sky Train Expo Line

 Went from New Westminster to Queensborough and the ‘Railway Bridge’ across the north arm of Fraser River.

 Connected to Port Moody-Ioco spur of the CPR (Canadian Pacific Railway) to the Coquitlam Dam in order to haul supplies

 Alouette Lake dam tracks connected power facilities to CPR that went on the north side of Fraser River at Kanaka Creek
