WHERE THEY LIVE

THE INUITS LIVE IN ALASKA, NORTHERN CANADA AND PARTS OF GREENLAND + RUSSIA.

SURVIVAL

  • Make a living by hunting and fishing
  • Clothes made of animal skin and fur

CEREMONY

  • The drum dance is popular at most ceremonies
  • Art and carvings were a big part of culture

LANGUAGE

  • Speak inuktitut
  • Different dialects in different areas
  • Inuit video

INUIT FLAG

  • Gold white and blue represent riches of land, sea, and sky
  • The inuksuk, in middle, is a stone monument to guide
  • The blue star is a symbol of the North Star.

HOUSING

  • Lived in igloo or contructed whale bone house
  • All diffenernt designs and stuctures

RELIGION

  • Believed in animism
  • Everything has a spirit, living or non-living
  • Shamans powerful enough to control spirits

The Inuit are still around today and some groups are working to modernize their culture.
