  • Soft bodies
  • Some have shells
  • Thick muscular foot
  • Take in oxygen through gills or lungs
  • Have organs

SPONGES

  • Very simple animals
  • Have many pores in their bodies
  • Water moves into a central cavity and out through an opening at the top
  • They get food and eliminate waste through this flow of water
  • Specialized cells for obtaing food and oxygen from the water

ARTROPODS

  • Jointed legs
  • Segmented bodies
  • Some have wings
  • Have exoskeletons
  • Breathe through gills or air tubes

SEGMENTED WORMS

  • Have a long tube like body that is divided into segments
  • Simplest organism with a nervous system and blood in vessels
  • Long digestive tube that runs through their body
  • Take in oxygen from the water through their skin

ECHINODERMS

  • Have arms that extend out from the middle of their body
  • Have tube feet that take in oxygen through the water
  • Have spines
