  • Cephalopods *Echinoderms
  • Worms
  • Arthropods
  • Mollusks
  • Cnidarian

CEPHOLOPODS

  • Examples: octopus, giant squid, cuttlefish.
  • Body Structure: arms, eye, funnel, fin, tentacle.
  • Reproduction: they lay eggs, reproduce once in their life.
  • Characteristics: they all have tentacles, some are carnivores, all are Mollusks.

WORMS

  • Examples: round worms, flat worms, segmented worms.
  • Body structure: mouth, segment, clitellum, anus.
  • Reproduction: eggs are formed, then formed into a cocoon.
  • Characteristics: no arms, legs, eyes. cold blooded. they
  • live where there is food, moisture, oxygen.

ARTHROPODS

  • Examples: shrimp, flies, spiders, crabs, ants, cockroaches, etc..
  • Body structure: jointed appendix, segmented body, external skeleton.
  • Reproduction: sexually and asexually, the female lays eggs. if it's
  • asexually then the eggs are unfertilized, if it's sexually then, it is a fertilized egg.
  • Characteristics: hard outer body, compound eyes, specialized mouth parts

MOLLUSKS

  • Examples: tusk shells, slugs, octopus, snails, mussels, snails.
  • Body structure: foot, gills, mantel, shell, foot, heart, stomach.
  • Reproduction: reproduce sexually and the female fertilizes
  • eggs forming plank tonic larval stage.
  • Characteristics: soft bodies, covered by shells, mantel, muscular foot

CNIDARIAN

  • Examples: jellyfish, coraland, and sea anemones.
  • Reproduction: sexually, asexually, they produce eggs into the water.
  • Characteristics: 2 body forms: swimming medusa, and sessile
  • polyps. They are single organisms.
  • Body structure: tentacle, mouth, ectoderm, mesoglea, endoderm

ECINODERMS

  • Examples: sea stars, sand dollars, sea urchins, sea lilies.
  • Reproduction: asexually, sexually, fertilize eggs.
  • Body structure: rectum, anus, mouth, esophagus,
  • tube feet, ring canal, ampulla.
  • Characteristics: have pincers to paralyze food. 5 sections of the body.
