MUTUAL FUNDS

  • A mutual fund is an investment program funded by shareholders that trades holdings.
  • Medium risk.
  • If the fund is "open end" then they are willing to sell.
  • However, if it's "closed end" it means that the shares are no longer available.

STOCKS

  • A stock is a type of security that signifies ownership in a company or Corp.
  • High risk
  • The stock market rose to some of its best levels in trading sessions preceding market collapses.
  • Changes in stock prices were expressed as fractions until the year 2000.

SAVINGS ACCOUNT

  • A savings account is a a bank account that earns you interest.
  • Low risk
  • You can use your savings account as an overdraft.
  • A money market account is a type of savings account.

MONEY MARKET

  • This is an interest bearing account that typically pays more than a savings account.
  • Low risk
  • Provides the account holder with limited check writing ability.
  • Interest rates vary from bank to bank.

GOVERNMENT BONDS

  • A bond issued by the government with a promise to pay periodic interest payments and to repay face value on the maturity date.
  • Low risk
  • Range from 4 weeks to 3 years.
  • Certain bonds increase based on the inflation rate.
