Lumosity

  • This app is meant to stimulate your mind.
  • This app consist of many subjects, depending on what you want to work on.
  • Consists of three short games a day.

Use in Classroom

  • I would like to use this as a warm up before class.
  • Sort of a bell-work to get the students to start thinking.

Positives

  • This app is completely free.
  • It stimulates your mind- gets you thinking.
  • It is interactive, fun and challenging.
  • Can be used for any subject.

Negatives

  • While it is educational, it does not actually go with a certain subject.
  • It will take some class time.

Accuplacer

  • This app is to help students prepare for the Accuplacer test.
  • This app gives examples of questions that might be on the test.

Use in Classroom

  • As an English teacher I would need to help prepare my students for the test
  • This app would be a great way to help study.
  • Could do a couple questions in class everyday until the day of the test.

  • Includes many subject; math, comprehension reading and sentence structure.
  • Will help kids study and prepare for the test.

  • This app is expensive, it costs $2.99
  • Also, because it is studying it isn't very fun.
