WEATHER VS. CLIMATE
The difference between weather and climate is a measure of time.
Weather conditions of the atmosphere over a short period of time
Climate is how the atmosphere "behaves" over long periods of time
3.
AIR PRESSURE
The force exerted on you by the weight of tiny particles of air
Weather forecasters measure air pressure with a barometer
4.
HUMIDITY
Moisture in the air
Moisture or water in the atmosphere causes clouds to form fog
5.
AIR MASSES
Large pockets of air commonly form that are distinct from the surrounding atmosphere
An air mass must be large in size
An air mass must be physically bound together,
6.
FRONTS
Cold front-weather associates cold fronts bc it moves quickly & passes over a location in a short period of time
Warm front- Clouds form in the sky as the warm air is lifted upward proceeded by thicker clouds
Stationary front- When two air masses come together but neither displaces the other,
7.
SEVERE WEATHER
Hurricane- are large tropical storms with heavy winds
Tornado- is a violent rotating column of air extending from a thunderstorm to the ground
Blizzards- a severe snowstorm with high winds and low visibility
