As a young boy, Louis Zamperini was always in some kind of trouble. He was known for stealing. 

This is a B-24 plane that Louie and his crew flew when they crashed into the Pacific in 1943. 

Louis, Phil and Mac were the only three who survived the plane crash. Louis and Phil survived all 46 days on the raft.
