PRESENTATION OUTLINE

IRELAND'S FOOD GUIDE

BY BRADLEY PAGE AND BRANDON TESTON

Our first impression of Ireland's food pyramid and food plate was that it was cool and different. We liked how it involved not only food but also beverages into the food plate itself. We liked how it was way different from Canada's to show the difference in culture and diversity.

There are six different levels in the food pyramid. It goes from the most important at the bottom to least important at the top. But as for the food plate there is sections in which the size of there "pie piece" is equal to there importance.

The name of the most important food group in the pyramid would be grain and bread. But for the food plate it would be fruits and vegetables by just a little sliver.

The names of the food groups from most to least important in the pyramid are grain and bread, fruits and vegetables, dairy, meats, butters and oils and lastly junk top shelf food.

The names and moderations of the foods to eat less of is fats oils and sugary foods which should only be eaten after dinner and fats and oils used in small amounts when cooking.

Some symbols used were pictures of the actual food itself.

They even have a DVD called "eat tastes and grow". They also have a lot of "mock" food guides that include alcohol due to stereotype.
