THE MOUNTJOY HELICOPTER ESCAPE
- The mount joy helicopter escape occurred on the 31st of October 1973 when three provisional ira volunteers escaped aboard a hijacked alouette II
- The helicopter landed briefly in the courtyard before escaping
- A manhunt began involving twenty thousand members of the Irish defence forces and the Garda síochanà

- In my opinion prisons work very well in Ireland as they keep Ireland's most dangerous in security and away from civilians
